LLDPP

(“Lawrence Latino Diabetes Prevention Project”, NIDDK, 5R18DK067549) tested the efficacy of a community-based, literacy-sensitive, and culturally tailored lifestyle intervention (vs. usual care) on weight loss and diabetes risk reduction among low-income, Spanish-speaking Latinos at increased diabetes risk. Subjects are mostly women (74.4%) with an average age of 52y, and 91% have less than high school education. Three 24-h dietary recalls were collected at baseline and 12-months after randomization (6 recalls total).
